sometimes a little wise?

Okay so as i sat down to eat an avocado for dinner (which lately seems to be a regular occurance) i decided to check my email and lo and behold i got an email from one of my dear sweet students. Now just to back up a little bit, this past week i might say i was a little stressed. Questions flying through my head about if teaching is something i really want to do or do i prefer the business world. I know i love kids but would i be better at doing something one on one rather than trying to teach a classroom. So of course all of these thoughts are somewhat pointless to have at the moment because i really have a while until i need to decide what i am going to do. plus i really felt like i was sucking (yes sucking-who knows if that is actually a word) at teaching. So i was probably throwing myself an unnecessary pity party. OKay so back to the reality....i checked my email and one of my sweet students had been emailing me and wrote:

My parents r getting redy 4 da Judo tournament, fixing up da house, and just relaxing!! Ya, I think the weekend does zoom by 2 fast 2.
How did u no bout the hole "dating" thing. I heard wen u were talking bout it and thought it was kindda cool that u new bout that kindda stuff. It's also cool that u teach kidds wen ur almost a kid ur self, u understand the way we think, sum times.
First off i love here spelling-and second the topic of conversation amongst these group of girls is always boys-we always talk about dating. And i feel like i am a broken record when i continually tell them boys should not be there main worry at that age. But apparently this little student thinks i know exactly what i am talking about. These girls have such low self esteem for being so young. If there was one thing i could leave with them this semester it would be just to love yourself the way you are regardless of what others think. So thank you my little student for making me feel like someone actually listens :)

Dare I say cutest little boy ever?

Okay so its been a while, but last weekend I went down to Southern California and saw the cutest boy ever-Christian! Here are just a few of my favorite shots!
This is Christian watching Enchanted. I couldn't get him to look at the camera!
After his first haircut!

Miss Brittany Barbie!

So i am exhausted but i thought i would get in some blogging time before i hit the magical bed! okay so this week i started my internship and so far...its been good! Although i am extremely grateful that the week is almost over! Its a little overwhelming and humbling to know that 6th graders might possibly be smarter than me. Its very true. I feel like i am going to school all over again-learning about verbs, nouns as well as analyzing stories and spelling. Oh boy definetly not my favorite but i am learning lots and i love it!
Just a quick story before bed! Today, Miss Gouveia (my mentor!!! she is like YODA) anyways today she had this brillant idea to do some role play. I ofcourse became Brittany Barbie (ex cheerleader from CA, 4 girls, 26 years old, just got my masters in dairy sciences and am now a professional egg tosser). I ofcourse came out onto the stage bouncy, perky and i am sure BRIGHT RED! It was so much fun and i loved every minute of it. Now the hard part...is teaching something i really want to do or do i just love working with kids more one on one...? If anyone would care to make that decision for me it would be much appreciated!

Going to look FINE in 2009!!!

So I have been thinking of a new moto for this upcoming year...and well I couldn't find too many things that rhymed with 2009. So Looking Fine in 2009 is the best i can do! To go along with that i have set some new goals for this year. Some that I have to admit make me a little bit nervous. OKAY so first i will back up a little bit. In November i had mentioned to my mom that I was thinking about picking up running, as a hobby. Don't even ask me what i was thinking. So then magically for Christmas, Santa brings me 3 (not 1 but 3) marathon training books and a new pair of running shoes. So Christmas morning i feel a little bit motivated, pull on those shoes and start running. I started the running schedule this past week, fully motivated. All I can say is by the end of the week i wanted to shoot my legs and the three running books. But i am determined to get into the habit of doing this. BOO

Okay so I guess i should mention Christmas...it came and then left quickly. Sadly. But i love having all my family together! Christian is just turning into a little boy!

And then there was New Years-Katie came into town and I thought it would be just brillant to take her to the San Francisco. What started out to be fun turned into a little adventure! We watched the firewords at Pier 1! But for some reason it must not have crossed my mind that Bart (public transportation) would be packed. Jordan (my extremly tall brother) pulled us through the crowds. I have never been so packed with a group of people ever. So once we finally got down into the station. We were standing patiently waiting for the train when all of a sudden we hear a group of cops yelling at us to get down. They had tackled a man-took a gun from him and was holding him to the ground. Happy New Years to us!!!
! It was quite the adventure!!!
